I finished reading North and South today. I remember back in the day when they made the mini-series with Patrick Swayze in it and my mom and I watched them together. I think that might have been the beginning for Mr. Swayze. Kirstie Alley was in it too. She was evil and I have to say I really haven't cared for her since then. Gosh those Pier 1 commercials are almost as annoying as that Veronica's Closet show.
So, I received North and South for Christmas. I really liked it. I am coming to find that I enjoy history. I don't know why I didn't pay more attention in school. I know North and South is a novel and all, but it is somewhat historical. I went today and got the next two books in the series and About a Boy with my gift certificate to Barnes & Nobel. I was kind of bummed that they only had the book with the picture of Hugh Grant and the kid in the movie on it, but I got is anyway.
Books I have read so far this year:
MASH by Richard D. Hooker
Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt
North and South by John Jakes

oh…I know what happened to it. It’s a long story. Sorry. But I must tell you that I asked about her and frankly, it appears she doesn’t exist. No one had ever heard of her. Maybe she didn’t get into the program. Or maybe she is going to the other community college up here, Alan Hancock. Or maybe she doesn’t exist.
