I am feeling a little discouraged because Ethan is not sleeping very well. He hadalways slept pretty well at night and was sleeping all night, like, 9 hours in a row until I went back to work in the middle of March. Since then, there have been maybe two or three nights he has slept all the way through and if I am lucky, he will sleep about five hours in a row. It is really hard on me. Especially on the nights I have to get up for work in the morning. I am starting to feel tired. It is really frustrating because I know about five people with babies that are all within a month of Ethan and they are all sleeping like angels. And most of them get to stay home with their sweet little angels. I pray that he will sleep every night and I have tried discussing it with him, but it hasn't really helped. I hope he gets back into it soon. Another set back has been the whole rolling over thing. He can roll onto his tummy, but can't get back to his back yet. So, at 3 AM he will roll onto his tummy, wake himself up, start crying because he is stuck, and keep crying until I go unstick him. It's kind of cute, but I just want to sleep.

Do you think he’s hungry in the middle of the night- or is just waking because of restlessness? Grant was still waking in the middle of the night at six months, but when we switched him to solid food (and I know you’re already doing some with Ethan) he began going 10-12 hours at night. it was like he was waiting for me to fill up his tummy more. Lael may be ready for that, as well, since she started waking in the middle of the night recently and was doing about 10-12 hours. I bought some rice cereal but haven’t tried it yet with her.

Oh- and she is doing the really frustrating thing of getting stuck on her tummy also. It seems to be the “in” thing to do.

I couldn’t believe it when he slept 9 hours in a row last night! He woke up a few times, but went right back to sleep without me being there to soothe him. He slept the whole night on his tummy. It was very nice. However, today he developed a fever and has not been quite himself. I am hoping he is teething, but it is hard to tell. I just hope it doesn’t get too bad tonight and that he can rest and feel better. I can see it getting high in the middle of the night because things always happen like that. We’ll see. Poor little guy.

I hate it when I get stuck on my belly, although Pam’s pretty good at rolling me over.
