It has been a long time since I last wrote. I guess I have been busy. I will try to catch up on the last few weeks...
We aren't sick anymore. (Shane still has a little bit of a cough).
Ethan turned six months old and at his checkup weighed in at 21 pounds 8 ounces and 28 inches long. We are now wearing 12 month clothing.
Ethan is eating green beans and peas now. And he loves them. He says "yum" to every bite.
He is also sleeping through the night. He goes to sleep at 7 or 8 and wakes up at 5 or 6 (thanks to my nasty work schedule).
Shane put in his 2 weeks notice at work and was hired on at UPS to unload packages at 3:00 in the morning. He starts Monday. He will continue to work part time at his old job till they find someone to take over for him. All the rest of his time will be spent doing web design. At home. Just what we have been praying for. God is so good.
We celebrated our 5th Anniversary on June 10th. Can't believe it has been 5 years. They have flown by. They have gone ten times faster than the year we waited to get married. I got the new The Killers CD, Shane got the new White Stripes. We ate at The Fishouse and walked around UTC Ethan-less. It was a nice day.
I have a nasty burn on my neck from the curling iron. It looks like a hicky. I have never had a hicky before. I am embarrassed about it. I need to be more careful.
I have had kanker sores for two weeks straight now. One of my eyes has been twitching. I think I am a little stressed. I don't know why....
That's it for now. It's almost nine and I just finished making dinner. That's the way things go around here.

shane:
Does this mean I can give you real hickies now?

I don’t see the attraction to hickies. I don’t hate them. But, you should know that- you and Shane were witness to the awful “chin hicky” incident.

Your chin hicky was the best!
No, Shane.

And my comment should have read, “I hate them” or “I don’t like them”. I think I combined my thoughts, but it never should have read “I don’t hate them”.
Gosh that was awful. But I still married him. In spite of the chin hicky incident, not because of it.

Oh- and does Ethan REALLY say “yum”?! I suppose it’s possible, but I was just surprised by that. Hand him a book- maybe he can read too!

that last post was me, I’m just a crazy poster.

Pamela dosen’t like hickies either, dang! The Killers Cd is probably the best I’ve purchased in a long time. I usually listen to it while I mow. Every stinking song is awesome.

I totally didn’t notice that you said you didn’t hate them, Tisra. And Ethan does say “yum” with his cereal most of the time…it’s kind of funny. I have handed him a book or two and he has only eaten them so far.
I am liking The Killers CD, Andrew. I always want to talk to you about music I hear and want to share with you!

I can’t believe he says “yum”. Is that his first word? Lael doesn’t seem even close to talking.

I don’t know if he really knows he is saying it. I used to say “yum yum yum” when I would give him a bite and he would smile and laugh, then it turned into “yum” as he closed his lips on the spoon. Who knows. He also says “mom.” Especially when he is tired and crying. I am not even going to humor myself and think that he is saying it to me.
How is the cereal going with Lael?

Tisra:
Even if he’s just repeating what you’ve said- that’s impressive.
Lael and cereal don’t mix. She just doesn’t like it. I think I may need to skip the cereal and try something with more flavor. She’s starting to nurse more frequently and not sleep as long at night (unless she nurses half way through), so I think her body needs more than milk. Eventually, it will work out. I mean, how many 5 year-olds don’t eat solid food?

I think Ethan would eat anything I put in front of him. He likes food. Maybe she would like vegies or fruits better…the texture of the rice cereal is kind of odd. But, everything probably tastes odd to them after only having breast milk.
