Ethan and I were walking at the beach in Carlsbad today with some friends from church and there were a lot of surfers out. We noticed a guy with a longboard surfing with his little girl-on the same board. She was probably 6 or 7. He would stand up when they caught the wave, then she would stand up and hold his hand as they surfed. It was awesome. And then, they did the most awesome thing ever. She stood up on her dad’s shoulders as they surfed. It was unbelievable. I can’t believe what a cool dad and little girl they were! And what a great memory to have from growing up. Not only that you surfed with your dad, but would do crazy tricks like that. It was amazing.

I should probably give a little Ethan update as well:

He is adjusting pretty well. He crawls or crab walks around the house, trying to stand up frequently and is happy a majority of the time. He still isn’t quite his happy go lucky self, but I don’t blame him. Things aren’t easy when you can’t walk or understand why you have this hard thing stuck to your leg. It’s a bummer, but he is doing better. He is also teething and it is so bad he will hardly eat anything at all. I feel so bad for the kid. He is very strong and very brave.

When you said “ethan and I were walking”, I totally pictured the poor little guy hobbling around with his cast like a little old man through the sand.

That’s funny! I guess I should have said I was walking and he was strolling. He would love to be able to walk anywhere at this point.
