This picture/post over at Defective Yeti made me laugh like I haven’t laughed in a while last night. Even today I keep thinking about it and chuckling. I think I needed a good laugh and it just did the trick. So funny.

I received a returned piece of mail yesterday. It was a thank you note for a shower gift I received for Ethan. It was postmarked November 4, 2004. I can’t even imagine where that note has been and how it ever made it from that place back to me, two years later. And now that I have it back, what am I supposed to do with it? The person thinks I never thanked them, but I am not going to send it now. What if it had had money in it? I think I wrote the wrong address. I think I actually wrote someone else’s address that I know on it but with a different city, so the place probably didn’t exist. The postman was puzzled and into the pile it went. Then, two years later, someone was finally dealing with the pile and it made it’s way back to me. And went into the trash.

We just got home from a free trip to Legoland with Nana and I am tired. Ethan had a great time and was a lot of fun to watch. He is so serious about everything around him as he takes it all in. He loves it there and really enjoys seeing all the kids and rides and lego-things. He was so good and stayed right with us. He was very tired at the end of our afternoon and was so cuddly in my arms. It was my favorite part.

I am feeling under the weather. It’s been coming on for the last few days and I tried to play it off like it was allergies and because of the change in weather, but I think I have caught something. I have a heavy head. It is stuffed up and my nose is runny and I am coughing some. I am tired. I have to work tomorrow. That makes me sad. Work is busy. I don’t like having a runny nose or cough at work. I doubt my patients like me to have a runny nose or cough at work, either. I am going to try to go lay down and rest a little before Ethan wakes up and we have to play.

It’s a girl! Yay! We had a very good ultrasound and our little one was very photogenic. She posed in all sorts of adorable ways and we have a lot of great pictures as a result. This is one of our favorites…her little profile. The ultrasound tech wasn’t 100% sure it was a girl until she got a really good shot at the end and even to our untrained eyes, we are all pretty sure she will be wearing pink. We are very, very excited and a little surprised (I was pretty sure it was a boy). Seeing her inside of me moving around and trying to put her fingers in her mouth or itching her little leg was truly amazing. God is an awesome Creator.

Here is our little cowboy. He wasn’t too into his costume and pretty much took the hat off the minute we put it on. He cried when we tried to put a bandana around his neck and he refused to wear the felt boots I made him over his shoes. Luckily, I only spent $4.00 on the costume. He had lots of fun handing out the candy to the trick or treaters and looking at the scary decorations (a large ghost with red glowing eyes that he referred to as “night” throughout the evening). We didn’t trick or treat, but he so much fun just passing out candy and seeing all of the kids come to the door. Maybe we will have better luck next year with the costume and he’ll get to trick or treat…and then we’ll have to deal with him wanting to eat all the candy.
