One of the million things that I need to get done before this little baby of ours arrives is to get Ethan’s pictures from the last 2 years and 2 months organized and into photo albums. I am wanting to scrap book them in one way or another, which requires a lot of time and organizing, but I am overwhelmed. I don’t plan on going all out. It will be very simple. The problem is, I have piles of photos and I have to go through iphoto and figure out when they were all taken so I can put them in order. There are a ton of pictures and it will take a long time to go through them all, so I am not looking forward to it. I started all of this today and I got about 5 pages together (pretty much from his birth to coming home) minus any writing or anything special. I guess it is a start. I really want to have it done so that when the baby comes I can just maintain Ethan’s and get going on hers. I should have started his 2 years ago, but I had other photo album projects waiting to be finished (our Europe trip, which is now finished). It is a lot of work, but I am always proud of myself when I have an album together and I know I will regret it if I don’t get going now. It is just…overwhelming. But I can and will do it!

Unless you like the creative aspect of scrapbooking, you should consider something like My Publisher where you compose a digital scrapbook and then they print it for you in hardbound format. Captions, everything.

Wow, that would be awesome. I like the creative portion of scrapbooking, but I also feel don’t really care that much. There are other creative things I do that I enjoy more. I will have to look into it…. (Now that I am started, though, I don’t know if I could just dump all that I have and start over).

I wanted to update a little about my scrapbooking efforts. That night, Shane helped me go through iphoto and figure out when all the pictures I had were from and since then, I have finished 7 months of pictures of Ethan. I have decided to do just the first year so I don’t end up feeling like I need to do this until each kid is 18, so I am almost there and I am very pleased and relieved!

Wow. Well done! Since we’re moving and packing up things, I’ve glanced through the big Pile O’ Pictures in our huge picture box. Rather than feel sad and guilty, I felt inspired to put them into books. Now I just need to make the time to do it. You know, between painting, and swapping light fixtures, and sewing curtains, and drawing up plans for an entirely new kitchen. Gah! Not enough time.
