My first week off of work is pretty much over, but I feel like I have been pretty productive. I finished my Stitchettes. I just need to frame them. I have made some headway on the quilt. I just have a ton of appliqueing to do now. I put away all the goodies from baby shower #1, organized the kid’s closet (Tegan has more clothes than there are days in the year…unbelievable), wrote all of my thank you cards. I was also hoping to finish a few books before her arrival, but I don’t think it is going to happen. Oh well. I am happy with what I have accomplished so far.

I forgot to mention what a lovie husband I have. In the last two years, I think I have probably taken one bath. That might be the only bath I had ever taken since we have lived here, actually. I was given some bath goodies for my baby shower and I put them in the bathroom on the top of the toilet. That was a good place for them, apparently, because they caught a lot of attention from Shane and he decided to have everything ready for me to take a bath the night I got home from my last shift at work. He lit candles for me and scrubbed my feet with body scrub and then put lotion on them and my hansd after I got out. It was quite a treat and very relaxing and I have taken another bath since. It was very thoughtful of him and I enjoyed it very much. I wish I could be pampered every night!

I had a last minute baby shower today from my coworkers. It kind of seemed like they had forgotten me or that my last day had snuch up on them before they could plan anything, but on Monday, a few of them asked me if I could come in today for a shower. I didn’t really want to hang out at work, but it turned out to be so nice and I realized how many people really care about me. Lots of people came in on their day off and it was nice to visit and be there and not have to work. There was SO MUCH FOOD and good food. They gave me so many cute things (more clothes for little Tegan!) and many other things. Once again, I felt so blessed and a little overwhelmed. There just isn’t enough closet space for this little girl! There are a few things I think I am going to take back for bigger sizes or just more practical things if I can. I am such a lucky girl. And one more shower to go! The big one, too…I can’t even imagine….

The last thing I have to say is that I am addicted to peanut butter. Not necessarily peanut butter itself, but things with peanut butter in them. Especially sweets. Peanut butter M&Ms are the best right now. And then there are the Reese’s Peices Peanut Butter Cup Cookies where they are dipped in chocolate. Man. Peanut butter has been my downfall this pregnancy. And I just found out Girl Scout cookies were for sale and I didn’t get to order any. I would have bought so many of the peanut butter ones. The Girl Scouts missed out. Maybe they will catch me at the grocery store….

Shane recorded this video the other night of our very strange neighbor who is often doing crazy things. It was after 11:00 and apparently went on for quite a while.

Today is the first day of my maternity leave and I am so very happy to be done with work. It has been really hard to work the last month or two and now it’s behind me. I don’t know what I am going to do with myself, though. I have a lot to do before the baby comes. Things need to be organized and cleaned and put away. I have a few projects I have started that I really want to finish. And who knows when this baby will really arrive? I have 4 weeks to go, but she could be early or she could be late. Man, she better not be late.

As far as my projects go, I am embroidering Stitchettes again. This time, I am going to frame them and put them above the crib. I have one left to do, so I am almost there. The big project that I am sort of in the middle of/just starting is making a quilt for a friend of mine’s birthday. Her birthday isn’t until May, but I want to have it done if I can so I don’t have to work on it later (since it might not get done if I do wait). I guess those are the only things I really need to get done, but the quilt is a little daunting. Luckily, my mom is willing to help and is very motivating. She likes to get things done.

I had a baby shower last Saturday and got so much stuff! It wasn’t even that big of a shower, but there were so many cute little outfits and blankets and books and all kinds of things! It was very nice and I felt very overwhelmed and blessed. I still have my church shower to go (there were 45 people on the list to invite…that’s what happens when you go to a small church…) I can’t imagine what else I need. Very, very blessed.

Well, I will get to work now since Ethan is sleeping. Lots to do!

This morning, Ethan woke up and we went out into the living room. He looked out the window and pointed out to me that there were “clouds in the sky that looked like cotton balls in mommy’s office.” Apparently the bathroom is my office. I’ve never had my own office before….
