Today is the first day of my maternity leave and I am so very happy to be done with work. It has been really hard to work the last month or two and now it’s behind me. I don’t know what I am going to do with myself, though. I have a lot to do before the baby comes. Things need to be organized and cleaned and put away. I have a few projects I have started that I really want to finish. And who knows when this baby will really arrive? I have 4 weeks to go, but she could be early or she could be late. Man, she better not be late.

As far as my projects go, I am embroidering Stitchettes again. This time, I am going to frame them and put them above the crib. I have one left to do, so I am almost there. The big project that I am sort of in the middle of/just starting is making a quilt for a friend of mine’s birthday. Her birthday isn’t until May, but I want to have it done if I can so I don’t have to work on it later (since it might not get done if I do wait). I guess those are the only things I really need to get done, but the quilt is a little daunting. Luckily, my mom is willing to help and is very motivating. She likes to get things done.

I had a baby shower last Saturday and got so much stuff! It wasn’t even that big of a shower, but there were so many cute little outfits and blankets and books and all kinds of things! It was very nice and I felt very overwhelmed and blessed. I still have my church shower to go (there were 45 people on the list to invite…that’s what happens when you go to a small church…) I can’t imagine what else I need. Very, very blessed.

Well, I will get to work now since Ethan is sleeping. Lots to do!

Amy F.:

Yay—a quilt for my birthday!

Oh, wait, maybe you have more than one friend with a May b-day…

Anyway, hope you’re doing well. I’m in Chula Vista now, still in the “hunting for housing” stage, which I hope doesn’t last too much longer, bah! We’ll have to get together sometime.

Hey Amy! Let me know when you get settled and we can hang out. Welcome back to the US of A! Good luck with finding a place.

Nana:

Papa will be thrilled to get his quilt on his birthday in May. He always wants to use mine but I tell him to leave it alone. Lately he’s taken a liking to Ethan’s silky.
