I am pleased as punch and happy to say that I was able to finish the few projects I had set out to accomplish prior to Tegan’s arrival. I finished my embroidered stitchettes and they are framed and on the wall in her room. I think they look very cute. I really like doing embroidery and I am ready for more.

I finished the top of the quilt I was working on last week and it is at the quilters house being quilted as we speak. I will only have the binding left and it will be done. I love it. I want to keep it. I’ll post pictures when I get a chance.

Today is a better day and all is well. Other than I have a wicked case of chapped lips. I have been having problems with them for the last few months, but these last few days, they have become super chapped. They are killing me and nothing seems to help. I have been putting on chapstick, vaseline, anything and everything and it seems to be getting worse. Now it is creeping up to the skin around my mouth and it is all red and swollen. I am not licking my lips so I don’t know what is causing it. I am drinking water. I have searched for cures for chapped lips online and found a few things that I am going to try today. I currently have hydrocortisone cream on my lips which I am not too excited about, but if it works, I am all for it. We’ll see. I don’t know what I will do if it doesn’t work. Any ideas?

Erika,

How about something with coconut oil in it? There is a chapstick called alba. I have the coconut flavor and It helped me through the winter!

Maybe…I have kind of given upon chapstick fixing the damage at this point. One doctor on a website said carmex is the best, so I may try that. I don’y know what to do.

When I was on Accutane 12 years ago (I now know- the stuff is awful….) it dried my skin out like crazy and I had lip skin coming off in chunks. Anyway, the ONLY thing that worked was Aquaphor. I still use it in heavy winter months when my lips hurt. But, is there the possibility that it isn’t just common chapped lips? Maybe something else?

And, I can’t wait to see your quilt! It looks like new Stichettes will be available soon. I’ve not done much embroidery, but I’m sure it holds the same satisfaction as knitting- doing quiet work with your hands that is portable and beautiful. Embroidery is like painting with thread. Again, can’t wait to see it!

I took accutane too and I totally have been thinking about you and your aquaphor lately. I considered it, but I wasn’t sure if it be any better than vaseline.

The hydrocortisone seems to be helping tonight…we’ll see.

In my experience, it is better than Vaseline…there’s something different. BUT, as far as chapsticks go (I really don’t like Carmex), I thinkt he best ones are the ones with jojoba, almond oil, or shea butter. The Bath and Body Works flagship stores have a product called My Favorite Lip Balm (its not a B&BW product) that is full of all three and is SUPER good. Aveeno natural lip balm/chapstick is pretty good too.

Mostly, I don’t like the petroleum products, but for some reason (again- I don’t know what), Aquaphor works. And when it works, I just don’t question it. :-)

I actually have aveeno chapstick and like it, but maybe I will give the favorite lip balm a try. The thing is, I need something to fix them and I don’t think any chapstick will do it. The hydrocortisone helped some, so I am going to continue with it in addition to chapstick. Thanks for the recommendation!

Aquaphor is pricey. Maybe it is my cure, though….

Chapped lips, they suck, I know, Coby’s friend Niko had chapped lips for three years. We like to laugh about it, party because his name is Niko and partly because it seems unhumanly to have chapped lips for 3 years. I thought your top lip looked really cute when I last saw you, even though it was a little puffy and red, it kind on looked like you had a little injection or something. But I think you’d look great if you walked around with a salad bowl on your head. Whatever yo.

Ha! Thanks, Georgia.

I’ve never met Georgia, but I like her. She must be a fabulous friend. My favorite part was the “injection” remark. LOL is over-used, but I was Laughing Out Loud! :-)

Georgia is awesome. You know me, I have always wanted to get lip injections…. My lips are doing much better:) I think the hydricortisone helped, but it was the aquaphor that really did the trick, I think. Yay, aquaphor!

Iwas going to suggest to you to use Aquaphor before I read everyone else’s comments. I swear by that stuff! It’s all that works for the twins when they have dry skin. Johnny is also prone to exzeyma (did I spell that right?)and it works wonders for him!!

erika:

Hey Danielle! Yes, I will now be swearing by aquaphor myself! We got together with Andrea and Jared a few weeks ago and I heard about Johnny’s ezcema and crazy rash from bananas! What a bummer. I have REALLY dry skin, so I feel for him! I LOVE your photos on flickr of the boys. Keep them up…we are enjoying watching them grow!

Indeed, we can to distinguish the two different sides of marriage in the Renaissance period. The effect of their news cast was that we were a country in the throws of Obama Mania, but in actuality Obama won 52% of the American vote. Quite beautiful, really, although I think my teacher digs the romantic style a little more than I do. I think gay people might even prefer saying ‘mariage,’ which actually sounds gayer anyway. Sometimes we make big ones.

Hello! I have been having the same lip problem for about a month now. I even went to the doctor, who thought I was crazy. He said it was just allergies. So I started taking some allergy medicine.

I can tell certain things irritate it. I can’t use any kinds of medicated chapstick, that makes it worse. I use vaseline and it hasn’t helped it, but it hasn’t made it worse. I’ve also been using hydrocortizone cream, which my doc told me not to use for more than 2 weeks. So I guess I need to stop. If you find any remedies, please let me know!!
