It’s May 7th and it is 91 degrees outside. The wind is hot. The only good thing about it is that our house is only 89 degrees. It usually is hotter than the temperature outside when the temperature gets up like this.
Two bad things:
1) I have NO SHORTS. I have NO SKIRTS. Nothing fits me and I AM HOT!
2) This summer is going to suck. It is going to be hotter than hot in this house. I am going to have a miserable husband who is trying to work in the heat with a computer that keeps shutting down because it will explode if it runs another second in 100 degree weather and two miserable, unhappy little children who probably won’t nap because it will be too hot for them. I won’t be able to handle it. Something must be done.
Maybe I will fit into my shorts by summer. That would be nice. Or I could buy some new shorts, I guess.

Come over anytime this summer, we have AC and/or we can set up the kiddie pool!

I’ve always said that San Diego county is wonderful most of the year, except for about 2-3 weeks in the summer. We always had houses without AC. But, ahhhh, now we live in the very hot South and AC is survival. I’m ruined. I love having a regulated temperature now and can’t stand being without it. Spoiled. Very spoiled. :-)

I don’t know if I talked about it last summer-we looked into getting an AC…very pricey. We got a portable one and the room actually got hotter while we used it. Our house has no insulation and opened beam ceilings. And we are down below every house that surrounds us. In a hot, hot pit. It’s a bummer. We went and bought a new fan and a summer dress for me yesterday, so today is a little bit better.
Thanks for the offer, Karen!
