We have baby birdies and they are bringing me joy every hour of the day. They are so very sweet! The nest is at the corner of our eave pretty close to the front door and every hour (at least), their mama comes and feeds them. They chirp so wildly with their little baby bird voices and it makes me smile every time. We are all getting a kick out of it. Even the cat.

I think she is pretty harmless, she just is very interested in them and what is going on out there. She couldn’t get them if she tried. She will be outside sometimes and the birds will be on the ground eating in site of her. She tries to get them, but they are too quick for her. They aren’t at all afraid. Poor kitty.

We live in a third story condo and we have high beams and rafters that birds like to build nests in and pigeons like to rest(and poop on our patio)There was a nest there with babies and the maintenance person took it out and boarded up the beams! I wonder what they did with them. I felt so sad. I’m glad you can enjoy yours though. Sorry, was that story a buzz kill?

We had birds nest in our fern we kept on the porch but the babies would learn how to fly and usually end up inside our house. We would have to scoot them outside and hope they found there way back to the nest. Also, everytime we would go up to the front door Mama or Papa bird would buzz us, trying to make sure we kept a safe distance. The last time the birds started building a nest Brian took the fern down so to discourge them. He got tired of fighting to get to the front door…altho I do miss the chirping sound when they were little.

One of the parent birds has hung out on the outside of our screen door a few times and I see them flying in the porch area, but they pretty much leave us along. I like them!
