Today was not so good. It started out ok. I went to visit a friend that I haven’t seen in a while and Ethan played with her daughter. As I was leaving, she commented on how she liked our new car. She asked if we had had any problems with it. Nope. No problems.
Got home, put Ethan to bed. Went to my moms to pick up some sugar (I am out, I have no money, I will borrow sugar). They are gone for the weekend. I pulled in, parked all crooked, rolled down the windows since I decided to leave Tegan in the car as I ran inside. I grabbed the sugar, ran back out. Car won’t start. Car is stuck in park, can’t turn the wheel, nothing is happening. Very bad. Luckily, I have the stroller. Tegan and I walk home. Ethan is FREAKING OUT. He won’t go to sleep, he is very upset. We stick to our guns and make him take a nap and can’t deal with the car till he wakes up. At five Shane heads over to check out the car and he comes back not happy at all. Can’t get it started. He goes in the garage to take his truck over and his truck won’t start. Yep. The truck won’t start! It has been a while since we drove it and maybe the battery is dead?
So, it is officially Memorial Day weekend and who will work on cars till Tuesday? How can we even get my car anywhere when it is stuck in park? What is happening to our cars? It is very frustrating and puts a lot of stress on Shane’s and my relationship. I am carless and stuck at home with the kids till this is resolved since we don’t fit in any of our other cars. Not sure what we are going to do about it. Today was not a happy day despite the little birdies.
Happy Memorial Day weekend!
UPDATE:
Two car batteries later and everything is A-OK. My dad’s friend from church who fixes cars came over and fixed us up. I am much relieved and in much better spirits today. Thank the Lord that is all that it was.

Nana:
Tegan! What did you do to Mama’s car while she was getting her sugar??? Were you pretending you could drive…

Thank God. I’m sure saying that you are “relieved” is an understatement.
