Erika, THAT IS STUNNING. I’d love to see a better detail of the quilting. I zoomed in as far as Flickr would let me. Georgia, you are one very lucky woman! Wow. You are so talented, Erika. And, seriously, how did you find time to do that with a baby and a job and a toddler?!

Dude, Tisra, you are telling me! Erika makes me feel like the luckiest person on earth. I love the quilt, she is a VERY talented lady.

Erika:

Thanks, guys. I don’t know how I found the time…naptime and nighttime I guess. It was a pretty easy quilt to put together and I didn’t quilt it myself, so that helped too. This is the first one I have made without the help of my mom. She will either help me sew sometimes (like, when I am 8 months pregnant and can’t bend over the machine anymore) or hand me the pieces to sew to get it done since we are often short on time. I end up doing most of the quilts, but her hand is often in them a little bit. This one was all mine. I am proud:)

You should be proud. Where do you get something quilted for you? That looks hand-done and not machine, am I right?

erika:

No, it is machine quilted. It has a rose pattern on it. It just looks so much prettier when it is machine quilted,in my opinion. My mom, the super quilter, knows a few people who have machine quilters.

Tisra:

Wow. I didn’t know that type of design could be machine-quilted. Really neat.

erika:

There are millions of designs. They can do just about anything if they have the right machine. It is amazing. It may be cheating a little bit, not quilting it myself, but I think it looks prettier. I have quilted all the baby quilts I have made, but it is too expensive in my opinion to get them quilted.
