We are having sleeping issues here. I am not getting to sleep much lately. Tegan had been in our room in a bassinet until about a week. ago I thought maybe the bassinet was getting too small or there were too many people in our room making too much noise and waking each other up. Sometimes she would just be awake-not crying, but it still would wake me up and keep me up until I either put her back to sleep or she fell asleep herself. So a week ago, I put her pack and play together in the office, which is not ideal at all. There isn’t much room for it in there and Shane needs to be in there working when she is sleeping, but I wanted to try it out and there really isn’t anywhere else for her to go. The first two night-awesome. She was up twice and then once the next night. Quite a difference from 4-5 times, which is where we had been. But since then, we are back to the 4 or 5 times and I have a longer walk now. My neck feels constantly stiff from sitting up with her in bed feeding (and falling asleep like that sometimes). I don’t know what to do. I think she is too little to let her cry herself back to sleep, but I am tired. I wouldn’t mind getting up once or twice at all. Every two hours is hard, though. Especially when I have to work the next day. I am thinking of leaving the fan on all night…white noise? We’ll see. Tomorrow I work, so it is worth a try. I don’t know what else to do other than letting her sleep next to me-she sleeps great that way, but I still don’t sleep so well and I really don’t want to get into that habit. So, I will try the fan and we’ll see.

I feel your weariness through your writing. I don’t have answers, but I do have prayers. None of our kids slept with us. From day one, we put them in their own room. it worked out better for us, and for them. Maybe she’s going through a growth spurt and wants the extra milk? I don’t know. What about her sleeping in with Ethan already?

Erika:

Ethan is a fairly light sleeper and the last thing I want is him awake, so I haven’t tried it. Maybe I should. He might surprise me!

I also just got a little nap in…2 hours or so with a few pacifier needing interruptions, but it was nice to rest a bit. I feel better today.

We’ve got white noise machines for both our kids and they work wonders. You can get them at Babies R Us for about $20. By the way…you’ve been tagged. =)

I had thought of the white noise machines…that is what I was thinking with the fans. The night after I wrote this post-awful. I think I was up with her like, ten times. Not feeding her every time, but just getting her to quiet down and sleep. No good. Last night was better. I let her cry a bit and I prayed a lot.

As far as the Meme-thanks, Jen:) I couldn’t possibly think of eight more things! Can I just count my last one??
