I was supposed to work today, but magically, I was able to get the day off and I am so, so happy. I worked on Monday and realized I was going to miss seeing Andrew and Pam the day they arrived (Friday). So I asked my supervisor if I could take Friday off seeing they had enough people scheduled without me, and it more or less worked. I am even being paid with 12 hours I accrued by working one of the days the fires were going on (they gave everyone who worked that day 12 hours vacation time…very nice). It actually turned out to be a good thing as I would have most likely called in sick anyway. I am better than I was my last post, but I have a cough and a fairly manly voice as of today. Both my kids are coughing as well, but I think we are holding up pretty well. And Uncle Andrew and Aunt Pamela arrived today and we were able to spend the afternoon with them. They met Tegan for the first time and Ethan led Andrew around our parent’s backyard for an hour or so. It was fun and I am very happy that I wasn’t at work. Right now I am sitting in front of a fire that is keeping me toasty warm. Everything is good.
