So here is a picture of the cake. I am really happy with how it turned out. Ethan loved it and it actually tasted better than I thought it would (even with the raspberry sherbet Ethan chose to go with it). It probably took a little over 2 hours to put together-not too bad. Georgia came over and helped me out with it. I have no idea how I will top this cake at future birthdays….

That is absolutely the best, creative cake I have ever seen!Wow! You are right, how do you top that? I have a friend who makes her own cakes as well but I have never seen a homemade one this good. Good job! What did Ethan think of it? Happy Birthday, Ethan!

Thanks, Danielle. He liked it, but he was just so excited about everything, he would have been happy with a cupcake (which is what I made last year:)

Erika, job well done!
I’ve made some shaped cakes, but they can be finicky and sometimes disappoint. In fact, Grant’s second birthday was a train birthday and I made a train cake and the whole thing started slipping and shifting and IT WAS AWFUL. I was sobbing and we just had to call it the train wreck cake, toss it in the bin, and call a friend to pick up cupcakes on the way to the party! It was THAT BAD.
And what a cutey Ethan is- he looks terribly grown up in the bike picture and looks more like Shane than ever! Striking, really. They’re getting so big!
