Last night, Ethan had one of those nights when he keeps asking for things or having something to tell me after he is in bed and supposed to be going to sleep.
His legs hurt…I will pray for them. He was thirsty…you’ll wet the bed. I forgot to take my contacts out….
I didn’t know what to say. You don’t wear contacts. He put them in this morning, apparently. It’s ok to leave them in is what I decided upon.
The kid cracks me up. If I had let him get up, I am sure he would have run into my bathroom and pretended to take them out and put them in the little holder, then ran right back into his room and jumped into bed. Too funny.

Lael has gotten into trouble TWICE for attempting to put in my contacts (you’d have thought she learned the first time!). The glass-like, shriveled, dry bits on my bathroom counter gave her away. I think kids are extremely fascinated with them.

I love his imagination. It’s funny how interesting contacts are to him now, and someday it will just be another everyday thing. I was obsessed with cash register buttons when I was little. My parents bought me one for Christmas that had a conveyor belt and everything. I loved that thing. After I grew up, I worked a couple of jobs as a cashier. Somehow the idea of pushing those buttons just wasn’t fun anymore. :)

You have got to be kidding…I bought right into it! That is one amazing kid. To quote a wonderful old friend of mine, “His mind gets to go places that the rest of ours doesn’t”!
P.S. - I’ve never looked at this before - really neat.
BTW - I let Maria clean the sink, then when I can’t stand it I do it - often!
Love you!
