I just finished another really good book, Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. Shane’s mom leant it to me probably over a year ago and I was in the middle of a series so it took me a while to get to it. Even then, I had to restart it twice (not because of the book itself, I was just having a hard time getting to it). But once I started, I read it in three days. My kids watched a lot of TV yesterday because it kept calling to me. I couldn’t put it down. Really great book.

I wish I could say I’d take your recommendation, but I’m kind of in a non-pleasure-reading phase right now. :-( It saddens me, but I seem to do well to read my Bible and cram in a few practical books on adoption or parenting with a smattering of magazines. Oh well.

I am embarrassed to say…Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I have read it twice now. A new one came out and I thought I would start over again, but they are huge books and it took me about a year to do it. Have you read it? If not, I do recommend it.

Yes, I have read Outlander and I really liked it. I read it around christmastime and I want to start on the second one but they ARE big books and I want to read some other smaller books before I start one again. Aunt Natalie recommended it to me saying that they are favorites of you both and I’ll read anything she recommends.
