owie, originally uploaded by Ladygirl.

Today was a little bit crazy. I was at work and the kids were with my mom. Something happened that caused Tegan to be babying her right arm early in the morning. My mom was watching it all day and we finally decided that Shane needed to take her to Urgent Care. I was helpless at work, but so proud of Shane, taking care of our sweet little girl. They did an x ray and everything looked ok…just a strain or something. The doctor gave her this cute little sling to wear (and I can’t even believe she was willing to keep it on for a minute). Doesn’t she look so cute?? The best part for her was the stickers she was given. I am so thankful she is ok…she is 18 months. Exactly how old Ethan was when his leg was broken. I don’t know what I would have done if she had a broken bone. At least I was miles away this time!

It is nearly impossible to get a good picture of my two little ones together, but I think this one is pretty good. We were eating a little lunch at the Wild Animal Park. It was 91 degrees. Miserable, but they didn’t seem to bothered by it. Where is our lovely fall weather??

nap, originally uploaded by Ladygirl.

It has been months since Ethan has taken a nap and even the last time he took one was when he was sick, I think. He pretty much gave up on naps when he turned three. But he has been burning the candle at both ends for the last three weeks and I think today it finally caught up with him. He has been going to school two days a week, bible study on Wednesdays and to top it off, waking up at 5 or 6 each morning. This nap started on the couch…he rolled off and kept sleeping. He looks so sweet and innocent when he sleeps:)

puppies, originally uploaded by Ladygirl.

Shane’s dad and his wife came over to visit last night and brought the kids presents. Puppies. The kids LOVE them. Both of the puppies bark and do stuff and the kids just can’t get enough of them. Ethan didn’t want to leave his (Tea Pot) home today when he went to school and Tegan’s (Tea Cup) has already gone for a ride in the car and on a walk with us. It is very cute. Tegan’s also has a little purse that she can carry it in and she is so cute with it. Enjoy it kids. These are the only puppies you will have for quite a while.

By the way…anyone want a kitten that was rescued from coyotes?? 8 week old tabby (think it’s a boy). He needs a home and fast or he is going to the humane society. Let me know ASAP:)

i am a robot, originally uploaded by Ladygirl.

I found this really cool website where this lady (it appears) does a craft with her kids every day. Can you believe it? Every day! I have been inspired and love to see what she comes up with the next day. Ethan really liked this robot suit. He even tried to wear it to church on Sunday. Too cute.

frenchy, originally uploaded by Ladygirl.

Here is my new crafty creation. It is from Amy Butler’s frenchy pattern. I bought the pattern and material about a year ago and finally made it! I am worried it might be a little little, but I think it is pretty cute and it was very easy. I especially like to look at it hanging here.

pinata numero uno, originally uploaded by Ladygirl.

Ethan has been hounding me to make a pinata for the last two days. I tried explaining that I didn’t know how. I tried explaining we didn’t have the stuff we needed to make one. He didn’t let up and he was resorting to trying to make one on his own (putting a bunch of stuff between two pieces of paper and getting very frustrated when it didn’t work). So today, I helped make a “pinata”. Tissue paper he decorated and I sewed up. It has whiffle balls in it. We hung it up and he went to town. He loved it. We made two. It took forever to break the things…much more durable than I thought! I was hoping that our pinata making would satiate him, but he just wants to make more. Now he is drawing pictures of pinatas. Guess we will be having a pinata at his birthday. But I’m not making it.

silly girlie, originally uploaded by Ladygirl.

Here is what Tegan, (18 month old as of yesterday!), is up to today. She always has to be carrying as many things around as she can at one time. Like, five babies and three bottles. Today it was pop beads…ten of them. She was pretty proud of herself.

Did anyone watch Sarah Palin’s speech last night? I was impressed with her. I am not too up on politics or news for that matter, but I feel like I have been paying a little bit more attention lately. Anyway, I liked her speech but my absolute favorite part was when her little daughter Piper was slicking her baby brother’s hair down with her spit on her hand. It was precious.

first day of preschool, originally uploaded by Ladygirl.

Ethan is at his first day of preschool right now. We had been trying to decide whether we should enroll him this year and he made the decision for us. Sort of. I signed him up for VBS a few weeks back and the lady at the office asked him how old he was. He told her and she told him that he was old enough for preschool. And he told everyone that. Again and again. He loved VBS and really wanted to go to preschool. After much praying and thinking, it all kind of fell into place…there was one spot left, the money, all of it. So, today was the day. He was excited and I was a little nervous and sentimental. He gave me a huge hug and then was off. He waved to us from the play area and that was it.

Then came the exciting part. We got back in the car (Shane was with Tegan and I). The car this time was the Jetta. I try to start it. Not starting. Try again. Nope. We trade spots. Shane tries. Nope again. After a bit, “Mary” helps us try to jump start it. Not working. She leaves and we decide to bump start the car. We push the car out of the parking spot. Shane is steering and instructing me to push the car from the back as hard as I can. So, there I am, running and pushing the car as hard as I can. I start laughing. The car starts, I start laughing more. I can’t stop because I feel kind of silly and happy and then Shane and Tegan are gone. And I am still laughing and there are these two moms over to the side that have watched the whole thing. I feel a little embarrassed, but very glad the car started. And then they did come back and get me. So, we had a little adventure…it turned out to be fun, at least when I look back on it and not a frustrating or super inconvenient thing. I am just glad Shane was there.

Two more things…

Tegan while sitting in the car says, “Bruddie go?” Precious.

Last night, I showed Ethan one star in the sky (I think it was really a planet) and he wants to make a wish.

I ask him,”What are you going to wish for?”

He says, “A lot of adventures.” Precious.
