Ethan was up at 6 yesterday, which is becoming more and more common these days (sometimes it is earlier than that). He wakes Tegan up, of course. I usually don’t let them “up” until 7, but I lay there listening to them from the minute they wake up until 7 rolls around. Anyway, yesterday they were up. As it got closer and closer to 7, Tegan started crying and Ethan was yelling and so I got up to go talk to them and get them up. I walked into their room and couldn’t believe my eyes. Tegan is standing there in her crib, soaking wet. She is holding her silkie between two fingers and crying because it is soaking wet. Her crib is soaking wet. Behind her crib is wet. I look and see Ethan’s bed is soaking wet. The floor between their beds is soaking wet. I am so bummed.

“What happened in here?”

Ethan explains that he took Tegan’s sippy cup and filled it up with water and poured it…everywhere.

“How many times did you do it?” I asked.

“Um, about 14” was his reply.

He was very upset to have to stay in the room and clean it up with me and it took quite a while to take care of it all. I decided to use the opportunity to clean there room up a bit.

As we were cleaning, I asked, “Why did you do this?”

Ethan’s responded enthusiastically, “It was water day!”

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!! CRAZY! :) You sure did handle yourself well… I wish I was that calm in situations like that, but truth be told I probably would have had to leave the room and take A LOT of deep breaths… I know it’s really not that big of deal in the whole scheme of life and after the fact it probably would have been funny to me… but initially… would not have been so good :) You are such a good mommy, my friend… I love ya to pieces…
