zipper pouch, originally uploaded by Ladygirl.

I stumbled upon a tutorial for zipper pouches not too long ago and couldn’t wait to give it a try, I went on a zipper hunt (why were white 7 inch zippers so hard to find?) Here is my first try. I love it! I just need something to put in it now. I have so many scraps that are just waiting to be made into zipper pouches!

a much needed nap, originally uploaded by Ladygirl.

We had an early morning yesterday and when Ethan didn’t go for my “it’s still night time, you need to go back to sleep!” speech (it was 5:30) I threatened him with a nap later in the day. He agreed to it (at 5:30). When nap time arrived, he wasn’t too happy about it. I put him in my room, left to go put Tegan down and came back to find this. How cute is that? It was a very relaxing, much needed, quiet afternoon with both kids sleeping. Boy, the things I could get done if they would do that everyday!

favorite things swap, originally uploaded by Ladygirl.

Last month, I signed up to be in a favorite things swap. I had never been a part of a swap before, but this one sounded pretty easy… send at least three of your favorite things to your partner. I have lots of favorite things!

I received my lovely package today from my new, sweet friend LaRane. That is one of the best things about it, meeting a new friend! We have been able to exchange emails and get to know each other and it has been a lot of fun!

I got some lovely goodies!

A little book with her favorite inks to stamp with. A delicious bruschetta recipe and oven mit. A precious little bracelet with my sweet kid’s names on it.

Wall Art from House of 3 which are so pretty and I can’t wait to use!

I was just so shocked with how lovely it all was and I am really thankful for the new friend and the sweet gifts!

Thanks LaRane!

each peach pear plum, originally uploaded by Ladygirl.

We were invited to our sweet friend’s house Sunday afternoon for a swim party and barbeque. It was a beautiful day and fun for all of us. The kids (and adults) enjoyed the pool, the food, and just visiting in the backyard.

Our friends had this plum tree in their backyard which was exploding with plums. They said we could take all we wanted. I found myself under the lovely shade of this plum tree, looking up the blue sky, smelling a mixture of plums and barbeque and just feeling totally relaxed and content in the moment. I decided it needed to be captured.

My dear friend Georgia turned me on to a favorite things swap back in June. I had never taken part in a swap before. I have always been a little intimidated by them, expecting that someone would like something I made for them or that my creation would be good enough… but a favorite things swap? I was pretty sure I could pull it off. Because I have a lot of favorite things.

Georgia got paired up with someone who flaked out and was a little disappointed, so I suggested we do our own swap! And she has it all up and running!

Here is what you do: Go to Georgia’s blog and email her the requested information. She will randomly pair you up with a partner and then you will gather and send your new friend at least three of your favorite things (can be more if you are feeling generous!) These favorite things can be purchased or handmade, old or new, and they do not have to be extravagant (good examples are things like your favorite tea, a favorite novel, something you love in your kitchen, something handmade, your favorite candies). Get creative!

You have to email her by August 14th and you send your lovelies to your new friend by August 28th.

Pass it on to all your friends, everywhere:) The more the merrier! It should be lots of fun… and you don’t want to miss out!

Our good friend Matt got hitched this weekend and we were so happy to b included in the festivities. It was a beautiful weekend spent with friends we have known for about 14 years but don’t get to see too often. We had a blast in beautiful Crestline, California. We couldn’t be happier for Matt and Kristy. And as my dear friend Tisra put it, we didn’t lose a Matt, we gained a Kristy. And I couldn’t be happier about that!
