We went to a little pond the other day to feed the ducks. Something I feel like we should be doing more often. I have memories of feeding ducks when I was little and my kids really enjoy it. Lucky for us, the geese didn’t catch on and we were safe. We had a little picnic up on a table in the shade just before this. They loved it.

Where did you go? I remember my mom taking me to the lagoon over by the mall when I was little. I took my kids to Guajome a while back and after they were bored feeding the ducks and “hiking” there was a little play structure for them.

Is this at Guajome park? Oh my gosh we went SOOO often to that park to feed the ducks when I was little. That was sheer free entertainment for us kids - yay mom! She saved and froze every scrap of bread we ever had so we could go. It was fun! But sometimes we did encounter the geese. I remember being about four when a goose bit me on the knee. I cried and cried - not because it hurt but because it scared the living daylights out of me. Geese! Watch out! I am so glad you do this with Ethan and Tegan<3

It was by Rancho in Shadowridge. I went to the lagoon as a kid and we have been to Guajome but you have to pay to park there:(

I have lots of happy duck-feeding memories from when I was a kid.
Of course, since this was in Oregon, a lot of those duck pond memories also involve torrential rain, but, overall, still a good kid activity.
So with SD weather, definitely a winner!
