This sweet little quilt took me way to long to finish. I am so happy to have it finished off and mailed to Miss Dorothy in Tennessee. Our long time friends Eric and Tisra adopted Dorothy from India last year. It was so amazing and humbling to take part in their journey and to see the joy she has brought to their family. Tisra’s blog documented much of their journey if you go back to October and November of 2009 in her archives. Another friend who is an amazing photographer went with them and documented it on her blog as well with some wonderful pictures. It is amazing and I promise you that you will not be able to hold the tears back! Dorothy is going on three, but I hope she gets a chance to enjoy the quilt and knows that there are people in California who love her.

We DO love it!!! I scoured the quilt and CAN NOT believe you aren’t “signing” these puppies!!! Seriously, Erika, you’ve got to start embroidering your initials and year on the corner or something! As Dorothy is still doing crib sleeping, I can it will be a favorite for the summer heat. Lovely cotton- so cool at night. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I didn’t even think of that, Tisra… I guess I should “sign” them. I am so glad you like it. Tegan has one my mom made for her and she sleeps with it at night on her too. They are treasures.
