Ethan has been playing soccer this summer and it has been so much fun to watch. 4 and 5 year olds playing soccer is very entertaining. Basically, there are no positions and everyone runs around in a swarm, attempting to kick the ball. Ethan’s team is called the Yellow Rockets. He seems to be enjoying himself and he is pretty engaged in the game. He runs back and forth, all over the field for the entire game and he gets a few kicks in. We have really enjoyed watching him. Go Yellow Rockets!

This little girl cracks me up. Well, most of the time. Last week, Nana took Ethan to Legoland on his own and Tegan and I had a day together. She was really bummed to be left behind and let me know all about it. I decided to take her to the library for a special “sparkle fairy mermaid show.” That is literally what it was called. And what little girl wouldn’t want to go to that? Well, this little girl didn’t. I was so excited to take her and it was my first outing with the two girls on my own. She lasted about 5 minutes before she was begging to get out of there. She wanted to go get books at the library instead. So we did. When we got home, she had a little present waiting for her from Shane’s dad and his wife. It was a little gardening kit and she loved it. Here she is proudly showing off her pumpkin seeds which most likely will not amount to much due to excess watering and stirring. She loves them and can’t leave them alone. In the morning, the first thing she wants to do is go check on her plants. It is very sweet and I am glad we found something to do to maker her day special.

A little over 6 years ago, we found out we were pregnant with Ethan. The next day, we went out and got a kitty. I had been wanting one. Shane wasn’t so sure, but he went along with my idea. Maeby became a part of our family. She was frisky and wild and we loved her. She totally won over Shane’s heart despite tearing up our furniture and the bites she would give you while you thought you were being sweet and petting her.

This last March, Maeby became really sick. The vet did a bunch of tests and basically, there was nothing they could do to help the situation. She stopped eating and drinking and lost a ton of weight, but she seemed to be hanging on. Everyday, we prayed for her, that she would recover. We were really surprised she hung on as long as she did. Paige was able to meet her and do a little tail pulling. Maeby became very sweet and cuddly in her last few months and all the kids were able to snuggle her and love on her. She went to kitty heaven yesterday and there were a lot of tears. We will miss our little grey striped cat.

Shane and my dad have been working like crazy in the garage lately and the kids have loved playing with the scrap pieces of wood. Yesterday, they made a roly poly playground which kept them entertained for a little while. Complete with tunnels for roly poly fun! I love when they create and use their imaginations like this. Why do we waste money on toys?

This sweet little quilt took me way to long to finish. I am so happy to have it finished off and mailed to Miss Dorothy in Tennessee. Our long time friends Eric and Tisra adopted Dorothy from India last year. It was so amazing and humbling to take part in their journey and to see the joy she has brought to their family. Tisra’s blog documented much of their journey if you go back to October and November of 2009 in her archives. Another friend who is an amazing photographer went with them and documented it on her blog as well with some wonderful pictures. It is amazing and I promise you that you will not be able to hold the tears back! Dorothy is going on three, but I hope she gets a chance to enjoy the quilt and knows that there are people in California who love her.

I saw this idea on a blog a while back and bought the lima beans but never got around to making them. I can’t even remember where I saw them now. But today was the day. Spelling beans! I made a set for Ethan and a set for a little friend. I really hope they like them and will have fun playing with them. I kind of want to play with them myself. I wrote each letter on a bean and coated it with clear nail polish. Probably should have broken out the scrabble game to figure out how many of each letter to make, but I just faked it, making several of the more commonly used letters. We will see how Ethan takes to them tomorrow. I will keep you posted!

My sweet friends Monique, Georgia, and Krista (who somehow avoided getting her picture taken with me) threw me THE loveliest baby shower on Sunday. I am not exaggerating. It was lovely. They went all out and instead of a cutsey baby theme, they made it modern french with French soda (which was delicious and I wish I could drink every day) with red and white striped straws, and the most amazing french desserts. They were delicious. Chocolate covered strawberries, macarons, chocolate sprinkle balls (I don’t know exactly what they were, but I could eat them every day while sipping my French soda), madeleines dipped in chocolate, cream puffs, petite cupcakes frosted to perfection… I am sure there was more. It was unbelievable. I was surrounded by dear friends who prayed for me and our little girl. It was so special to spend some time in prayer with those close to me and to share my concerns and requests with them. And then there were the presents. Unbelievable. We are blessed beyond measure. I am so appreciative of the time and love the girls spent putting it together as well as the time my friends spent coming together to celebrate the arrival of our next little girlie. Thank you to everyone who helped out and to everyone who came and showered us with love<3

There are a few more pictures you can check out if you click on the picture above. I didn’t get too many of the whole crowd, but there are plenty of the delicious treats!

Yesterday I was given one of the sweetest baby showers ever. I am so blessed to have such amazingly wonderful friends. I will write about the shower itself a little later but I wanted to post a picture of one of the cute little clutches I made to give to the lovely friends who threw the shower for me. I love the fabric (also from Masionnette). I made one for myself as well, but it is hardly diaper bag size, so we will see how often it is used! (The tutorial for the clutch can be found here.)

It isn’t a very exciting picture, but it will have to do. I wish I had a little someone around to model it on, but she hasn’t arrived quite yet. Her bib, however, is ready.

When Tegan was born, my lovely sister in law Pamela bought her the most precious bib ever and I used it every day. The girl never had another bib. It is pretty loved and I really couldn’t use it on our little sis, so I decided I needed to make one. And here it is. The best part was going to the most wonderful fabric store to choose the fabric. I think it turned out perfectly and I think I will be making many more of these for the many babies I know who are on their way.

We celebrated this lovely Mother’s Day with our third annual Mother’s Day Tea. Both Grammie and Nana were invited over to enjoy a cup of tea, brownies, and strawberries with powdered sugar. I didn’t get a good picture of the whole group, but here are the kids. They really enjoy this tradition as do all the mommies in our family.
Happy Mother’s Day!

I wanted to post my April verse before April is over. This year is just moving too fast for me.

“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God.”

2 Corinthians 5:21

I also wanted to mention that I have been a part of BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) this year and we studied the book of John. It has been amazing and I can’t believe how much I have learned and how much I have been in the Word because of the study. It has made me want more! Next year we will be studying Isaiah and I just wanted to invite anyone and everyone to join. The studies are everywhere worldwide. Ours meets Wednesdays from 9-11, but there are evening classes in lots of places as well. If you are interested, let me know. You will be challenged and grow more than you could know! It’s great.

One of my favorite things this Easter. Sweet pink toes in sweet princess shoes. I love this sweet girl and her little piggies!

Happy Easter! Here is a picture of our little family. Although many things in our family are no longer looking so little… my belly, Shane’s beard, my little boy and little girl! Where has the time gone? Hope you had a wonderful Resurrection Day!
